Definition
Freight sector scorecard
Any collision between trains or rail vehicles on a running line, including a collision:
- With an open door (e.g. container) or other projection (e.g. displaced load on a vehicle). NB: a collision is NOT to be recorded when a train or vehicle strikes a tree or trolley, these are to be separately reported.
- Occurring during a shunting operation. E.g. striking a vehicle left foul, striking a buffer stop or striking another vehicle causing damage.
- Occurring within a possession, including worksites within a possession.
- While the line is blocked, due to a previous accident or emergency.
